Get started with Pulse
Open Pulse, add your own AI provider key so chat can answer, ask your first question and get cited answers from your own documents.
This guide takes you from your first visit to your first answer. It takes a few minutes.
Open Pulse
- Go to pulse.oroe.ai.
- If you’re not signed in, Pulse sends you to the Oroe sign-in page. Sign in with your Oroe account and you come straight back to chat.
You can also reach Pulse from the module switcher on the left edge of any Oroe module.
Note Pulse is part of certain Oroe plans. If your plan doesn’t include it, you’ll see Pulse AI is not available on your plan, with a link to upgrade.
Find your way around
The Pulse sidebar has four places:
| Sidebar item | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Chat | Ask questions, and answer from your documents with citations. |
| Documents | Upload files and sort them into folders. |
| Editor | Write documents with the assistant’s help. |
| Settings | Your AI key and models, usage, and what Pulse does in your other modules. |
At the bottom of the sidebar you’ll find the Light mode/Dark mode switch, Collapse sidebar and Sign out.
Step 1: Add your AI key
Pulse runs on your own AI account, so chat needs a key from an AI provider before it can answer. Until then, chat shows Connect your AI model to start chatting.
- In chat, select Add your API key. You can also open Settings → AI connections and select Add your API key there.
- Pick your provider, for example OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) or OpenRouter, and paste your key.
- Select Connect. Pulse tests the key and helps you choose models.
- Select Start chatting.
The full steps are in Choose and connect AI models.
Tip The Getting started card on your Oroe dashboard has a Connect your AI model in Pulse button that takes you straight to this step.
Step 2: Ask your first question
- Select Chat in the sidebar, or New Chat to start fresh.
- Type your question in Ask Pulse anything…
- Press Enter to send. Use Shift+Enter for a new line.

Step 3: Ask about your own documents
- Open Documents and select Upload files. Pulse accepts PDF, Word (.docx), text, Markdown and CSV files. You don’t need an AI key to upload: document search uses a built-in model.
- Wait until the file’s status changes from Processing to Ready to ask.
- Go back to Chat and switch on Documents in the header.
- Tick the folder or file you want to ask about, then ask your question.
Pulse answers from what you ticked and shows its sources. See Documents and folders and Cited answers.
Step 4: Decide where Pulse adds analysis
Other Oroe modules can ask Pulse for extra analysis, such as Cue’s AI website generation. You choose whether that happens for you.
- Open Settings → Smart suggestions.
- Each module has its own card: Cue — Appointments, Nest — CRM, PinWatch — Monitoring, Tron — AI Calling and Relay — Unified Inbox. Use the switch on a card to turn Pulse’s analysis for that module on or off.
- With a module switched on, you’ll see switches for its individual features, such as AI website generation & editing or Deal analysis.
Changes save straight away. Everything is on until you switch it off, and these settings apply to your own account.
Good to know Routine notifications, like a new appointment, a new contact or a monitor going down, come from the modules themselves. They never use AI and are always on. These switches only cover the extra analysis.
