Let Pulse act in your other modules
Ask Pulse in chat to check your Cue bookings, add a note to a booking or email a client through Relay, and approve emails before they're sent.
With a model that can use tools, Pulse chat can do more than answer. It can look up your Cue bookings and business details, add a note to a booking, and send an email through Relay. You see each step it takes, and an email waits for your approval in the chat before it’s sent.
What you need
- A chat model that can use tools. In Settings → AI connections, the model chat uses should show Works, including tools. If it shows Not checked yet, select Check. See Choose and connect AI models.
- Access to the module. Pulse only uses a module your account has access to.
- For email: Relay needs an SMTP setup to send through. Pulse sends from the same setup Relay uses for everything it sends. See Send mail with SMTP.
If the model can’t use tools, Pulse still answers, and shows Pulse can answer but can’t act with this model under the message box, with a link to switch to a tools-capable model.
What Pulse can do
Look things up. These are on as soon as your model can use tools:
- Read your business details in Cue.
- List your Cue bookings for a range of dates, filtered by status or staff member, and open one booking.
- Check that Relay can send email, and from which address.
Make changes. These are off until the workspace owner switches on automations. Changing any setting on the Automations page for the first time switches both on.
| Action | Asks for approval first? |
|---|---|
| Add an internal note to a Cue booking | No. Notes are added and never replace what someone wrote. |
| Send an email from your business’s mailbox through Relay | Yes |
Off until the owner switches them on. In Settings → Modules, the workspace owner sees two switches. Both start off, and members don’t see them.
| Switch | What Pulse can then do | Asks for approval first? |
|---|---|---|
| Let Pulse change booking status (Cue card) | Mark a booking confirmed, completed, no-show or cancelled | Yes, every time |
| Let Pulse give Tron agents jobs (Tron card) | Give the email, research, marketing or finance agent a job | Yes, every time. Tron also applies its own rules. |
Not available yet: asking a Tron agent to phone a client from chat.
Note Settings → Modules lists what Pulse is built to do in each module and marks anything that isn’t switched on.
Ask Pulse to do something
- Open Chat and ask in plain words, for example “Which bookings do I have tomorrow?” or “Add a note to Ana’s booking on Friday saying she prefers the morning.”
- Pulse works through it in up to 8 steps. Each step appears under the answer as a chip, such as Checked Cue bookings · 3 found, Note on a Cue booking or Email sent via Relay.
- If a step failed, its chip turns red and says not done, with a short reason.
Pulse is told to look facts up rather than guess, and to say an action happened only when the module confirms it.
Approve or reject an action
When an action needs your approval, such as sending an email, Pulse doesn’t do it yet. A card appears under the answer instead of a chip, for example Email via Relay — waiting for your approval.
- Read the email Pulse wants to send in the answer above the card.
- Optionally, type in Add a note (optional).
- Select Approve to let it go ahead, or Reject to stop it.
After you approve, Pulse carries out the action and continues its answer. If you reject, nothing is done.
Good to know Approving needs permission to approve actions in your workspace. An approval can only be used once, for the exact action you saw.
What Pulse can’t do from chat
- It can’t read or change Nest contacts, your Relay inbox or PinWatch monitors. Open those modules for that.
- It can’t book or move appointments in Cue. It changes a booking’s status only if the owner switched that on.
- It gives Tron agents jobs only if the owner switched that on, and it can’t ask an agent to phone a client.
- It doesn’t act on its own between conversations. Messages that go out on a schedule are automations.
